As somebody who lives in New Orleans, I screamed with pure joy when you pronounced it correctly.
You had a very accurate experience of New Orleans. Violence, drinking and driving, lawless zones, bugs. You got it.
As a NOLA native, I'm glad to hear an honest review about the city. We have a ton of issues, the climate is miserable, and the people are batshit insane but I wouldn't trade it for any other place on earth. Hope you can get back for Mardi Gras and maybe visit Frenchmen street one night for a change of pace from Bourbon!
