Description

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness was an absolute mess of a story that ruined not one but two great characters in the MCU. But could it have been better? Was there a way to salvage it? Join me as I do my best to work the Drinker magic on it. Want to help support this channel? The Drinkers version sounds like a decent Marvel movie from a decade ago.

“I shifted the narrative focus from Wanda and back to Strange.” And somehow you managed to give her more character in this than in the actual movie.

Honestly I just want Dr. Strange to have SOME consistency in his power. Sometimes he’s strong, sometimes we’re just told he’s strong, sometimes he gets tossed by a tentacle, sometimes he doesn’t use magic barriers when he could..or the mirror dimension and sometimes that is weak.. it’s a character where you constantly have no idea if he can handle the current enemy he’s facing since his powers are basically as strong as the writers needs for the plot

The Drinker’s version is a thousand times better with just the simple fact that it redirects the focus of the movie back to Dr. Strange instead of Wanda being the whole plot

Wow, a version of this movie that doesn't neuter or degrade the heroes we've come to love. A Wanda that actually learned from her mistakes and made a sacrifice that didn't feel hollow. A Strange that logically would question his place in everything and is the actual centerpiece to his own movie. Bravo, Drinker, and thank you.

Your motivation for evil Strange is way better than "I want your girlfriend!"

One thing I like about Drinker's version is that it makes Evil Strange the terrifying villain he should be rather than a momentary plot device. Strange meeting his darker counterpart should be a moment where we witness the true cosmic threat that Illuminati warned of is realized - where Strange sees with his own eyes the true potential of multiversal chaos at his own hands.

"Now you could spend hours going over all the problems, inconsistencies and failings of the script-" That made me smile; a hat tip to your mate Mauler who has done precisely that. His lengthy deconstruction of the film is just incredible :)

When Wanda killed Xavier, it pissed me off she did it inside his head. He should absolutely hold command over telepathic matters, and her own abilities there should be enough for her to momentarily resist, that’s it. What I would have accepted in a heartbeat would be her fighting and struggling to move in the physical world while he tore apart her mind to help heal her, and she killed his body just as he released the Wanda in that universe, giving his sacrifice meaning as two Wanda’s battled the Darkhold from within.
