Dispute Over Stolen Trailer Escalates to Blackmail and Sheriff Judd's Public Takedown
Discover how a small debt repayment involving a work trailer spiraled into blackmail, a high-stakes grand theft charge, and a public media investigation involving Sheriff Grady Judd.
Short Summary
- Robert Reynolds faced a high-profile arrest for Grand Theft after two employees tried to blackmail him over a trailer they allegedly provided.
- Prosecutors initially valued the stolen assets between $80,000 and $100,000, pushing for a seven-year prison sentence.
- Sheriff Grady Judd publicized the arrest before key ownership details were established, severely damaging Reynolds' reputation and business viability.
- Reynolds maintains his innocence, citing absent fingerprints on the recovered property and witness inconsistencies that contradict the state’s narrative.
This discussion details Robert Reynolds' experience fighting serious felony charges stemming from accusations made by disgruntled former employees. He outlines the contradictory evidence uncovered during discovery, the devastating impact of the sheriff's public briefing on his career, and his decision to fight the case to trial rather than accept punitive plea bargains.

Matt! please do a follow up on Robert's case when it's resolved. I think everyone listening would like to know how it turns out. Good luck buddy !!
Grady Judd is convicting people in the media before their day in court. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? I have been patiently waiting for a lawsuit I feel like it's coming soon.
I never trust a cop that will not put a body camera on him or his deputies
I lost all respect for sheriff Judd after he made a 12 year old girl write an apology letter to her uncle that was actively raping her. She ended up recording him in the act to prove that she was telling the truth. Of coarse Polk county buried that story...
Man the justice system is full of crooks and liars what a joke of a government we have

"lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas"
I’ve been in law enforcement 26 years, you see this all of the time. Judd thinks he’s a movie star and common sense becomes much less common.
One thing I find interesting is that if a podcaster has a case against them an talks about it online - the DA ask for a gag order to not influence potential jurors- but a cop that does a press conference suggesting someone’s guilt has no consequences…..
Would love to get a follow up on this !
