Let’s settle this for all time right here right now. For the one and only God to exist, then God must be omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, Omni benevolent, and All loving. Grant this premise. A human is much less than God in all attributes. If humans would attempt and occasionally succeed in stopping evil meted out on children in this world, then God would attempt and succeed every time. Grant the above premises. There are millions of such evil events in the world, for example the evil of a deranged person shooting and killing 20 six year old children in Sandy Hook Elementary School. Truly undeserved deaths. Humans attempted to prevent that tragedy. The purported God did not. Therefore, the purported God does not exist. Or, one can posit that God does not intervene in affairs of the world, thus does not answer prayer. Basically, we are on our own.
