I remember that 1990s vibe in NYC! Yes, it was a distinct culture. I loved the city back then, from early morning coffee to evening commutes, the shops, museums, restaurants, pubs. Even the subways were safe then, thanks to a great mayor.
I remember when they married Time magazine ran the photo full page with the caption, "Congratulations, bachelors of the world. You all just moved up one notch."
Correction: The painting of the hands is copying Michelangelo's fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel; it's not from a Da Vinci painting. 😊
I do like the Guy who plays JFK, we need to be realistic, nobody will embody the look, charm and sassy the real JFK was. But this actor got his voice very well, the walking of JFK and the resemblance. As the actress, well Carolyn was magnetic not tha much beauty but stylish and mysrerious, is a really hard role to play.
“Clunky expository dialogue….” God, I love Maureen.
“That and a nickel will get you a gumball” is instantly added to my phrase library.
The romanticizing of abusive relationships, womanizing, drug use, nepotism, using people, the (corrupt) elite, the fashion industry (which is rife with child abuse and SA), the gross media, idolizing wealth, and ultimately romanticizing death.
I met JFK jr over the summer of 1997….. at calico pizza in Jackson hole….late night there was a band, MAD cow I think? He was having pizza in the restaurant after it was closed….with his buddy, he was gorgeous and had quite an energy about him.❤
Idk that jfk guy is pretty good looking. That’s about as close as you’re gonna get to him. Eyes 9 million miles apart like Jackie had. Hard to find people with eyes that spaced far apart
