Im glad I can enjoy something without giving two sh*** of what other people think. Unfortunately, not everyone has that ability.
I love that not only does Maya have powers now, but that the name Echo now means that her ancestors now *ECHO* through her, giving her the skills and abilities her ancestors had. It’s actually beautiful when you think about it. She is the literal living legacy of her people.
Maya showed Kingpin the Echos of his past. I think she was trying to break him out of his own mental hell. He's still reliving the memory his father hurting his mother even day. She also showed him the memory of the ice cream vendor. He remembers every kill knowing it was wrong but what's the mindset he's in he still loses himself to his rage. She tried and failed. Instead of trying to erase what's been trapping him behind his own self-made prison bars, instead of trying to leave the worst of his own instincts, he's to afraid. He'd rather stay a rabbit in a snowstorm. I really liked what they tried to do even though it was executed kind of sloppily. Still I do stand by the fact that I think they treated the Legacy characters perfectly and overall I really did like this show. It is still very messy and has a lot of flaws but it had really cool action and character moments. 7.5/10 for the whole show in my opinion!
The actors who play the grandparents are Graham Greene and Tantoo Cardinal. They played Kicking Bird the medicine man and his wife in Dances With Wolves. Seeing them together again 30 years later was the highlight of this great show for me.
I understood the ending. It worked for me because. Maya ain't beating KingPin.. thats not happening. Her mother had a healing gift. She was trying to show him he could let that anger behind. Shit scared tf out him. On another level.
I want to give props to Alaqua(sp) Coxs acting abilities. Up to this point, her face has mainly conveyed anger and inner pain. A general uneasiness around most others. But her face at the end showed those were no longer there. I was really taken aback at that moment.
If the "Skip Credits" button pops up when the end credits roll, there is a post credit scene. Disney+ has been doing this since at least when MultiVerse of Madness started streaming.
Her mother choosing the moment of her passing to use as the calming flashback makes me think the replaced the scaring image of her moms ending and replacing it with a moment of peace and calmness ridding her of her guilt and rage was super impactful.
I honestly feel like this last episode ended more in a hurry to even get time to settle with emotions properly. I would've liked more kingpin and to show his emotional side, giving it some time to struggle with it, making it more detailed and with time. I definitely would have loved 6 episodes in this. Otherwise, This is such an amazing show, it's more grounded and earthy than the rest of the MCU. Weirdly, it feels breathable at its own pace rather than trying to compete and get along with the whole narrative of MCU and I loved it.
