Remember when Obama was president and he would make the shutdown as painful as possible for as many people as possible; kicking nuns out of their church because it was too close to federal land, shutting down memorials and putting up fences to stop veterans from going there... All so he could use that pain he was inflecting as a political weapon, accusing congressional Republicans of being responsible for the executive decisions being made by the president. Trump, by contrast, uses what powers he has to alleviate as much of the pain as possible. One of these is a leader. The other is a hostage taker.

At this point no one in congress should receive a pay check while any portion of the government is shutdown. If they are willing to shutdown the government, they should be willing to go without pay too.

Trump will never get a fair shake from the media. He shouldn't even do interviews with them. Biden didn't.
