As a German/Korean, I have to say - this is an unprecedented level of stupidity on Trump's administration. I worked as a head engineer for a German car production line in Mexico and it's common practice for the parent company to bring skilled specialists to get the plant going to hand over the manufacturing process to the locals. There's also ensuring expertise and QC, maintaining consistency, transfer of knowledge/training while addressing cultural and logistical challenges. I can guarantee you that no car company will just make a decision to let the locals run things from scratch. It just doesn't and will never happen. S. Korea may initially lose some $ to pull out of US, but I think they should. Your country is no longer run on democracy. Hyundai, LG, Kia, Samsung all need to pull out of America and invest in Canada instead.

Not just screwed himself, also screwed American workers who were counting on those jobs.

No foreign company will want to invest in the US now. It's a too high risk for their own people. Good luck expanding the US economy.

MAGA really thinks South Koreans want to leave Seoul and illegally immigrate to the US to live in Georgia of all places? That is absurd.

Those people were helping train workers. The excuse about the locals not getting jobs is complete nonsense.

We Koreans will never forget this treatment, and the US will pay price for it in the very near future.

최소한 '모욕'은 주지 말았어야죠. 사람이라는게 다분히 감정적인 생명체 잖아요. 아마도 그들은 죽을 때 까지 그 '치욕'을 잊지 못할 겁니다. 한국인들이 그 체포 장면을 보았을 때, 가장 먼저 떠오른 것은... '노예' 였습니다. 목화밭에 끌려가는 '노예'가 떠올랐죠. (영화 등에서 본 이미지가 바로 그것이었습니다) 한국인들은 자존감이 높습니다. '모욕'은 최악이죠. 한국의 역사를 안다면 우리는 강자에게 무조건적인 복종하는 민족성향이 아닙니다. 권력에 저항하고 반항하고 뒤집어 엎어버리는 민족성이에요. 미국이 지금 하고 있는 행동은 한국인들이 저항하고 반항하고 엎어버리라 하고 있는 것과 같아요. 한국의 정치인들이 굴복하고 싶어도 국민들이 허용하지 않을 겁니다. 국민의 의지를 무시한다면 그 정권은 권력을 잃게 되겠죠.
