This whole movie is a allegory for depression. Diana is this monster of depression. Sophia met Diana when she was psychologicaly sick, and Diana helped her problem get worse. So she grabbed to the sick part of Sophia. So because depression is a sickness, every time it's get Shopia again, Diana re-emerge. And she get rid of the people around her so she can't receive help. And thats is also a analogy to how depression works: you start to separate yourself from people and isolated.

The easiest, and saddest explanation the police would come up with is the mom went crazy, locked her kids in the basement, attacked the boyfriend, killed the cops, and then herself during a mental breakdown. This movie also has the worlds best and smartest boyfriend. The man was all in and the most logical of the group.

I think everyone thought the boyfriend was gonna die😂 but that last smart move saved him. It was definitely a nice change from other movies that would've killed him immediately

Boyfriend in here is one of the slickest characters in a horror film! Using his car lights to get rid of Diana

As someone who watched this in theater, I don't know that turning on the headlights was an "obvious" decision at the time, but the entire theater had the same reaction you guys did, but louder, lol. We all clapped and cheered. It was brilliant.

Fun fact! The woman in the opening scene with the lights cutting out is the director's wife! She was the woman in the original short! I love that he included her in the movie not only because he loves his wife but she was also such a huge part of the short film!
