We think of canibalism as gross, for the greeks it was one of the worst sins you could commit, especially children. (people starved periodically back then, it got dark!) So it wasn't just that he did it, it was that as a ruler, he would bring down the wrath of the gods on them as ruler doing that in their name. There is very little worse you could do in the eyes of that society.
They really had messed up ways and petty reasons

What made the brazen bull even more terrifying was the fact that the smoke from the victim’s burning flesh would exit the bull’s nostrils, and that combined with the bull’s bellows from the victim’s screams made it look like the bull was actually alive during the execution 😱
The 6th century was years 501-600
This story honestly makes me feel ill, even the thumbnail makes me shudder
