As a child in the early 80s my school filled my head with American mythology of how superduper great this country is and has been. That teaching didn't match what my parents, grandparents, and other elders said.

You should have asked him about the myth of the chosen people.

I was all in on the American Myth/"Exceptionalist Propaganda" and finished a masters degree in statecraft to get into foreign policy, ideally with the State Department or the CIA and i was interviewing with both. But during this time I was a black dude living on a native reservation for my wife's work and after digging into the political philosophy readings, and being on the colonial frontier where the exploitation is ever present, I finally saw through the myth of American Exceptionalism for what it really is: a racist, brutal colonial project and there is no other way around it. I was going to focus on aerospace strategy because of my years in the industry as a pilot, technician and mechanic, but doing my research I fell head long into the MIC, the billion dollar boondoggles that don't work or just destroy black and brown people in far away lands, in the name of profit. It's all a sham, a lie, and America's true colors are reemerging with the collapse of democracy and return to white supremacy.

Myth is used by Oligarchy to make adults think like children.

One of the saddest tales from Americans in WWII is the story of Black tank crews _(the only place they initially allowed Blacks to serve)_ being openly despised, having epithets hurled at them by White infantry. Disgusting. Hearing those guys tell the story of their fellow soldiers demeaning them in the midst of a war. Nevertheless, the 761st Black tank battalion served with bravery, dignity and heroism. Dominating all opposition forces at every turn. They fought under Patton in the Third Army in Europe and were standouts with some of highest numbers in the war and later being labeled "one of the most effective tank battalions in WWII". 183 straight days in combat. 300 purple hearts, liberating camps and cutting off German supply lines, and all to return home to Jim Crow laws and stature of "second class citizens".

The myths that MAGA is built upon: • America is a white Christian nation. • Billionaires are self-made. • America was ever great.

I feel like my California education was well informed. We were taught the truth for the most part.
