JVL, as usual, is right. I think the constant minimizing of the horrors has gotten us where we are.
It’s an abomination! I will never get over this. It’s symbolic of how he looted our government and now he’s tearing down our house!!
After this nightmare is over, no monument to Trump can be left standing. JVL has this entirely right. The visual symbolism matters.
It is really important to tear down the symbols of the authoritarian once he is gone.
Could not agree with JVL more. I am someone who hates waste and will repurpose things until they're completely dead. That being said, I fully support the first official act of the next President being the demolition of this stupid ballroom. It's totally wasteful and 100% symbolic but it will be like giving a cleansing shower to the entire country. Removing that monstrosity will be a visual removal of this dark awful period of our history.
