Indonesia needs security laws against foreign funding of civil societies, government officials and military. US, UK, Canada, Australia all have such national security laws against foreign interference. It also needs to examine Western social media controls the narrative to destabilise Indonesia.
Most of Indonesian do not aware of this. They welcome US NED as if they are the savior. This is alarming.😢

If those supporting the protests can't name the leaders and show me who is funding them - they know nothing about the protests - no matter how genuinely upset they "think" they are.
I was in China in 2008 when Liu Xiaobo, the human rights lawyer, was placed under custody (and ultimately given a prison sentence). For years, I wondered why the Chinese government did that. It was unlike them because they were always careful to steer clear of high profile individuals publicly supported by Western governments and Western media as it was not worth the resultant negative publicity. If those individuals became too troublesome, it was always easier to encourage them to leave the country. It was only a couple of years ago that I finally found out the cause - it wasn’t because of Charter 08 per se : it was because Charter 08 was funded by the NED, and Liu himself was taking funding from the NED through his organisations (the Independent Chinese PEN Center, the Democratic China magazine). The NED is a CIA front organisation that pushes for “regime change”, and it appears that the red line for China is any individual who takes funding from a foreign security agency (not an unreasonable position for any sovereign nation), regardless of anything else, however innocently that money might have been taken (as I suspect that the nature of the NED wasn’t so clear to many people then, and possibly not to Liu to give him the benefit of the doubt, as it is today).
There are 1,500,000 "NGOs" registered in the USA. That is 1 NGO for every 136 working age US citizens. They employ 11 million people domestically and probably 10 times that globally. Question everything.
