That guy Squid thought shit was sweet. Lol
Deirdre O'Connell as Francis Cobb deserves a goddamn Emmy for this episode alone. Her scene in the bathroom with Oz made me cry so hard I needed to pause the episode and take a minute. My mom was diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer when I was 14. We had no other family members to look out for us, it was just me and my mom lifting each other up when we needed to lean on someone for strength. She fought it for 10 years. She passed away 9 years ago from cancer complications, peacefully in her sleep. Towards the end of her life she was suffering in a very similar way to Francis, becoming so weak from the treatment and from old age that she needed help to get up if she fell down. But we were always there for each other. So I know exactly how Oz felt when his mom said she didn’t want to suffer anymore.
Damn good episode AGAIN!!!!!!!! The only bad thing about this series is when the credits roll! 👀🙌
This character development in this episode is so good 🙏🏼
This show is ridiculously good.
I honestly didn’t think it was possible to make the simple act of opening a beer seem like a truly momentous occasion, but holy shit did it work! Oz was so perfect during the Gold Summit that I almost wanted him to run for mayor. For the first time in his business dealings in this show, he was 100% honest with everyone, but what really hooked them is was the fact that if all of these dirty politicians and city officials who hate each other’s guts can work together and control all of Gotham, then why can’t they.
Gilda is the movie they keep referencing with "Put the blame on Mame" starring Rita Hayworth
Great episode. The moment between Oz and his mom was very sad and heartbreaking. Squid got his comeuppance, as well.
The scene between Sofia and Eve is extraordinary. A scene that had all 7 of Aristotle's plot structures in those few minutes. It started out as one thing and turned into something completely different by the end. Great. Great. Great.
2:15 In nearly every rendition, Oswald is a Cobblepot who were a wealthy family with deep roots in Gotham City. The Cobblepots are traditionally one of Gotham's founding families, alongside the Waynes, Arkhams, Elliots, and Kanes. A more prestigious background that shaped his sense of entitlement and relationship with Gotham’s elite. However, in the show, they altered his background, changing his last name to reflect a more humble upbringing, growing into the version we know from the comics rather than being born into wealth.
