Description

Support our work: https://democracynow.org/donate/sm-desc-yt We speak to Congressmember Ro Khanna about the apparent assassination attempt against President Donald Trump and members of his administration at the White House correspondents' dinner. "Political violence strikes at the very heart of democracy. We cannot have a democracy if people are saying we're going to kill you if we disagree with your viewpoint. And that has to be condemned in the most strong, unequivocal terms," says Khanna. He also gives an update on his work calling for the full public release of the Epstein files and comments on Trump's attacks on press freedoms. Why is violence not considered violence whenever it is done by the state? Why is terrorism not considered terrorism whenever it is done by the state to a geopolitical rival?

The very beginning of this country is an act of political violence there has never not been political violence in this country.

"I was totally exonerated" (Trump). None of Trump's 34 felony convictions were overturned.

What else did anyone expect but rebellion and even violence, if the rich elites blatantly steal from the people and leave them in misery, while their corruption, oppression, and system change destroys millions of people and throws even more into misery, war, and suffering? So is it any wonder? What else could the outcome possibly have been? That people would simply continue to watch horrible crimes, injustice, misery, oppression, and the unaliving of millions continue, all because of some extremely wealthy, reality‑disconnected people with their often predatory, vile, or cruel personalities and worldviews, and their connections to groups or forces that actively do terrible things to humanity – things that very likely influence their actions against the people even more? After all that destruction of the world as we know it, what should anyone have expected to happen? One could only predict that more people would rise up and try to remove these deeply questionable, deeply dangerous, and deeply murderous people from power.

IDIOCRACY is a often humorous, or derogatory term for a SOCIETY, or GOVERNMENT, controlled by FOOLS, IDIOTS, or SEVERELY UNINTELLIGENT PEOPLE. It describes a STATE where STUPIDITY, IRRATIONALITY, and INCOMPETENCE define the GOVERNING BODY and, by extension, the SOCIAL NORMS.

I appreciate Rep. Khanna coming on the show frequently and making actual trips to the studio.

It’s pretty clear that Americans cannot take much more of this in your face corruption and graft. E. Jean Carroll won an $80M judgement in court after she sued for rape. Katy Johnson was 13 when Trump raped her at Epstein’s NYC mansion and the estate paid out a settlement comparable to E. Jean Carroll. Trumps first wife Ivana sued him for marital rape in their divorce. He tasked her with finding a surgeon to do a scalp reduction surgery and he attacked her, raped her while ripping out handfuls of her hair while screaming that his post surgery pain was all her fault. Did she force him to get painful vanity surgery? No. For Trump to deny he’s a rapist is factually inaccurate but makes him feel better to deny. That 73M Americans don’t think rape is disqualifying is the real news.
