Milton Hershey was a genius. He got Hershey bars into GI's rations during WWII, and we've been devouring them in increasing numbers ever since. It is estimated the 373 - 574 million Hershey bars are sold annually. Hershey says it had $11 billion in sales last year (2024?)!

According to Wikipedia, Clarence Birdseye's idea for frozen foods came from a hunting TRIP he took to Canada. This documentary certainly makes it seem like he was living in Canada like Grizzly Adams when he discovered fast freezing.

I love how they stage these fictitious dramatic events that probably occurred in a very businesslike manner ("Get out! Im not paying you to learn on the job! Get out!")

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Hershey's best sales and profits are coming from Exports across the Globe more so than sales here in the U.S. at least in our recent past and present time frames in the 21st century.
