Final Saga Review: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Finale and World Expansion

Analyze the action-packed finale where Bella defends her daughter, and discover why this concluding film feels much faster paced than its predecessor despite packing in massive lore reveals.

Short Summary

  • The Culling of the Volturi involves a massive, albeit ultimately fake, battle sequence designed to shock viewers.
  • Reneesme’s rapid growth and her unique nature as a half-human hybrid are central to resolving the conflict with Aro.
  • The critics highlight the jarring CGI face renderings of baby Reneesme, which frequently pulled them out of key emotional moments.
  • The movie successfully expands the wider vampire lore, revealing global covens and their distinct powers.

This wrap-up brings the Twilight saga journey to a close, focusing on Bella’s new life as a vampire and the defense of her rapidly developing daughter, Reneesme. The discussion scrutinizes the film's shift in tone toward high-stakes action and the effectiveness of its final visual resolutions.

Imagine being in a packed theater opening night in 2012. When the camera pans down to Carlisle's head, people screamed and cried, pure pandemonium.

The book IMO was so anticlimactic because after all this building of the conflict with the Volturi, they don’t even have a final show down. Adding the future “dream sequence” was the most brilliant way to add some action and some sort of climax without changing the book plot

Marcus said "finally" because he was so depressed for centuries when his partner was killed. She was Aro's sister, and Aro was the cause of her death because they were planning to leave the Volturi. It's a shame so much was left out of the book because it was such a sweet and sad detail.

Robert Pattinson played Edward so well in this movie. He’s more relaxed than we’ve ever seen him in the first half and that’s because Bella’s a vampire now so he’s not having to hold back anymore. It’s such a cool touch.

The look of realization on Michael and Brandon’s faces after they realize it was a “dream sequence” CLASSIC! Lol

They used cgi for Renesemee because she needed to be fully aware of her surroundings. She was born with a full set of teeth, and a fully developed brain. They tried a real baby, an animatronic puppet, but nothing worked until this. She needed to be able to follow big conversations and understand everything. They also wanted her to look like Mackenzie Foy at every stage of her life.
