When Matpat spent a decade ruining our childhoods, so for his final act he pushes to make future childhoods better. It truly wraps a bow on everything and brings a tear to my eye.
Goodbye, MatPat
Name 5 GOOD father figures in children's media. Go!
Doofenshmirtz, Bandit, Iroh, Goofy, and some nerd from Game Theory
The fact that the Goose from Kung Fu Panda is genuinely one of the best dads in this era of media is very funny
What about Mr Ping from the Kung Fu Panda franchise? He's the hard-working owner of a noodle stand who loves his son and gives great advice and guidance.
"Thats just a theory, a FILM THEORY. and cut..." That hit very hard π
Let's also get a standing ovation for Uncle Iroh, git was a G. Him singing leaves on the vine to his dead son made me cry during a show or movie for the first time, and I already watched Coco.
I didn't even realise how much mat has taught me until my friends said "man you are smart how do you know all this" ( we were discussing nuclear missiles and i said something about bikini atol) Thank you matpat i miss you more than i thought i would
Uncle Phil (Fresh Prince) always comes to mind as well, I know it is a bit older already, but a lot of the lessons he imparts and he himself grows through, are timeless. He is a great role model. Growth is a main point of what is lacking with male role models, we skip all of the trial and turbulations that they undergo, and those steps are by far the most important. This video was fantastic Matpat!
