Uncle Phil (Fresh Prince) always comes to mind as well, I know it is a bit older already, but a lot of the lessons he imparts and he himself grows through, are timeless. He is a great role model. Growth is a main point of what is lacking with male role models, we skip all of the trial and turbulations that they undergo, and those steps are by far the most important.
