Not one single class in my CS degree taught me how to be condescending on Stackoverflow, absolute waste of time.
Unemployment got me to view this in first 1 min of upload
Cassey and DHH on the same podcast? You are spoiling us.
The fact DHH gets interrupted by an AI code review sponsor made me laugh out loud.
Only 5 minutes in an DHH is doing one hell of a monologue.
"and ship cleaner code, today" I guess that was required by the sponsor π Love you prime
Industry wants you to have debt. An employee in debt is motivated to do a job they don't want to do.
I tell people that university was originally for the higher things, but the university institution has almost entirely reneged on that duty, selling itself as a job training/ expertise approving institution. But many many people show you donβt even need something like that to be successful, and many many people who go through it do not obtain almost ANY skills. I'm willing to bet someone who works hard and solves problems all day can pursue the higher things on their own time, as was historically done.
Dream team. So nice to see DHH and Casey together in the podcast
What Prime was talking about and minute 35 is also a problem with university exams. If you're a person who really wants to understand the subject matter, you won't do well at the end-of-semester exams because what you're supposed to do is study the past exams, and just know how to do the problems without really understanding. I didn't find the magic of past exams until my third year of university, up until then, I thought I was stupid. Now, i know I was stupid for not finding them in the first year.
