I’m here for the Weissmann stories!

I'm a retired employee of a county that is bigger than the state of Rhode Island. The county utilized employees from all departments to assist with elections. Some worked the polls with volunteers, some worked at the election warehouse to receive the election materials. IT folks assisted with the ballot counting and quality assurance and quality control. The poll workers started at 5 am and worked until polls closed, when the lead person would deliver the election materials to the warehouse. The warehouse workers worked a full day at their regular job, then went to the warehouse and remained there until all election materials were turned in (some came from towns nearly 100 miles away). I worked at the warehouse, and had the privilege of watching hundreds and hundreds of people standing in line, ensuring the chain of custody of ballots despite being exhausted, and doing so with good humor. Every election, I felt such pride in being part of this great effort with coworkers I had never met before. I worry about whether that feeling will still be present in light of the crushing pressures being placed on the system. Sad days.

The Supreme Court should have a maximum 10-year limit and no candidate be over 70 years old when appointed.

I always love how the country that claims anything is possible also claims most things are not possible.
