I agree with everything Steven said. I feel very isolated. I'm 36 and used to have a gang of friends I would see all the time. Not anymore. Now my only real friends are my dogs and my parents. I want to go back to simple times.
Im a 23 year old married man. Married last year, and when we got married my wife used social media a lot. Well ive never used social media other than Youtube. I have disdain for them, and she understood that, and she deleted everything she had except Youtube. Our lives are not only better for it, but our marriage has flourished because of it. It genuinely saddens me how many people our age are caught in the cogs of this machine. I respect the hell out of this Crowder. Ill never use social media, but i respect those of you that do it to spread a good message
I've noticed during the holidays, in recent years, looking around the room and everyone is on their tablets/phones. They can't even put it all aside just to spend time with family during Christmas! It makes me think of a field full of sheep grazing, not noticing the world around them!
We need to go back to the early 2000's where everyone made videos for fun or passion. Advertisers are paying far too much for "influencers" and "creators". We all have ad blockers and don't see their propaganda ads anyways.
I miss the "change my mind" videos.
Come on Crowder, if it wasn't for social media, any media for that matter, YOU would not be where you are.
