Do I need two-way radios any time soon? No. Did I watch this video and consider which one I would buy if I did? Yes.

50 years ago I had private business band radios on my farm, most of my communication was under 15 miles, but could reach well over 50 in open ground. I had a base and 5 mobiles, and over $3500 invested, plus license and renewal fees. Motorola made the best radio at the time, I wish either of the 2 Motorola walkie talkies were available back then, could have bough a new pickup for the difference. Thanks Todd, very impressive.

I think an underrated spec for the radios is that some can take standard alkaline batteries as well as their rechargeable batteries. In some situations, camping and emergencies, being able to grab a pack of regular batteries is important. That's why I like the Motorola radios.
