It's actually crazy that a producer can say "the audience is too stupid" without any consequences or repercussions
Good job Lauren. Not only did you ruin the pure potential of Henry Cavill and his legitimate love for the material, but you just showed the entire industry a perfect reason to never hire you again. Love to see it, let the door hit you on the way out.
I will always respect Henry Cavil for this. He saw the bullshit that was going on and refused to be a part of it anymore.
For decades now, Hollywood has needed a 'book-slapper'. When the writer, director or producer of an adaptation makes an unnecessary change, someone slaps them with the book in question.
Im not even angry anymore. I'm honestly just in awe of the lengths Hollywood is going to destroy their own industry through.sheer.fucking.hubris.
As I recall, Ciri was essentially the pivotal character for a great deal of the source material, but her story is essentially told from Geralt’s perspective. So cutting him out of the show is just proof to me that the writers don’t understand what forms feminism can take. They had an opportunity to make a story about a strong woman, but they’re so devoid of creativity that they can’t comprehend that coming across without making the male leads useless and irrelevant.
I really wish the producers in Hollywood would stop hiring their girlfriends, wives, mistresses, etc to write shows. We need people of talent.
Netflix got what it deserves and it still manages to blame the customers!
"Netflix and Amazon did end up getting their Game of Thrones, except they went straight to Season 8". Gary you killed me.
The best part of all this is Tomasz Bagiński, a Polish producer who collaborates on Netflix's "Witcher" series. Once highly respected in Poland, he now pursues a success strategy on Polish social media, bending reality and convincing utterly disappointed Polish fans of Sapkowski's prose that the series is still a massive success, and changes were necessary for foreign (apparently underdeveloped, in his opinion) viewers to understand. The guy is so slick and slippery, he should become a politician.
