Why doesnt 60 minutes even mention the US role in funding and supporting these regimes with operation C-O-N-D-O_R
I don’t cry a lot watching documentaries but the moms and nuns being tortured then thrown out of planes alive… all for wanting justice for their so sons…. I miss my mom
What a way to die. Knowing you will free fall for a few minutes before you inevitably hit the freezing waters of the Atlantic at 100mph. Knowing that nobody will find your body except for sharks and scavengers. Crazy
This really highlights the power and influence journalists have. The Italian journalist spent 20 years and was able to uncover a terrible systemic crime and his reporting led to the conviction of 48 criminals. Unfortunately, most journalists these days are more interested in gaining clicks (because that's what they're rewarded for, the whole system is rigged) and not these in-depth pieces that actually chnge lives and bring closure to families. This was a good 60 minutes documentary.
I used to maintain a Shorts Skyvan for a small airline in Alaska. Such a charming, purposeful, and earnest aircraft. I've always wanted to convert one into a flying RV. What a tragedy to visit upon such a useful creation. Now it sits, innert, bearing silent witness to the unspeakable crimes it was used to perpetrate.
So sad the horrible thing's we as humans are capable of doing to one another, just plain horrible.
The plane is a memorial symbol equally powerful to the train cars preserved in Germany that carried victims to the death camps. "Those who do not remember the past..."
My mom still remembers all the fears, friends gone , she was a young girl back in 70' she graduated from the HS and was started the University when all these atrocities happened , she told me was every day somebody gone and wonder who could be next., she have some many personal stories from that time . She always tells me " Cherish ,protect and defend the Democracy.. is precious ... fragile and must be treated with RESPECT... When it is gone is when you realize all the values have !
Kudos to investigative journalist and the Italian photographer 👍🏽
Thank you, 60 Minutes. Much appreciated.
