I was a tenant's rights advocate here in California for many years. It was stressful, mainly due to the hostility from landlords, so-called civic organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and County Supervisors, etc. Needless to say, I admire you and your tireless work for working folks and the homeless. Good luck to you and realize how important your work advocacy is in an increasingly harsh environment.

I am so tired of hearing people talk about the homeless and addiction. If I weren't so lucky to get into HUD housing I'd be homeless and I am not addicted to anything nor have I ever been I'm 75 years old and living solely on SSI. No where can I rent an apartment that I can afford. Also I don't have a mental illness but YOU try being homeless and see how long it takes for you to develop an addiction and mental health issues! Talk about making rent affordable for everyone! And for those snot faces that think they are above it all. Lose your money lose your home. You could have an accident or major illness and there goes your life.
