What Douglas described in the first 25 minutes is the majority of common folk literally became modern day slaves. We work our asses off (8-12 hours/day) at a job that most of us can't stand doing, pay an enormous amount of taxes, pay way too much as a cost of living and we are expected to say "thank you" for being put through it. It's amazing how working way too many hours has become the norm in the U.S. Not only the norm, but it is expected of us. We are given just enough "freedoms" to make it feel like we're not slaves, but when it is broken down and analyzed... we are modern day slaves. Prove me wrong.

A breakaway civilization is a wonderful idea. If something goes wrong, they'll all be in one place...

They know exactly that cataclysms happen every 12k years (reset events). They’re staying quiet and trying to use it to their advantage. It’s sick

In Rural America, it’s very common to call around and see who has what equipment or tools you need before you go buy it yourself. And most of the time someone already has it and you can borrow it. It’s been like that for generations. My dad is remodeling his house right now, he borrowed a concrete mixer from a friend. And in return he loans his stuff out. He borrowed some other equipment from another guy, and in return my dad helps him load up his trailer. There’s even some guys that make it apart of their personality to buy that one piece of equipment everyone will want to borrow, like an old truck with a manlift boom on it 😂 Being poor and in rural areas brings people together, because they have to be. Literally EVERYONE waves at eachother on the road when passing by, honks and waves when they pass by. Rural Colorado 👌southwest mentality.
