Michael, I am really struggling with my church right now. This Ash Wednesday the mass had a prayer “Let us pray for our brothers and sisters of Islam as they begin their Holy Ramadan.” And every Sunday mass has something similar to this. I asked the vicar what is going on. He claimed the Vatican sent the book and these prayers were suggested to them to use. I said, this is coming out blasphemous and it sounds like we are aiding them in their religious practices which goes against Christianity entirely. He stated that he understands the persecution of Christians but we are Christians and have to do things the Christian way. I said I do not want to come off sounding negative or discriminative, I have a Muslim friend, but rather than praying for their aid in their religious practice we should be praying for Christ to come to them and the Holy Spirit to reach them or something, not to pray for them as they begin HOLY RAMADAN. My priest said he understood so I will wait to see if the prayer is worded more appropriately, if not I will keep you updated Sunday. However, I was wondering if you’re experiencing these weird prayers during your mass or if you have heard of this happening anywhere else? I find it odd the Pope wants these days when Jesus taught us to bring the Word to everyone so that they may know God and be with God. The pope even made a room at the Vatican for Muslims to pray in, which is practically deconsecrating it. Allowing other religions to pray to their god on land used to show glory and honor to god. It’s all so insane to me. Please 🙏🏼 brother I’m asking bc my soul feels so uneasy about all of this happening.

During the pandemic, my best friends’ 94 year old grandma was allowed to use assisted suicide in California. It is supposed to only be permitted for people who have a terminal illness with 6 months or less to live. She was 94, but had no actual illness & only live in an assisted living facility because she was so elderly & her family thought it was a good compromise to have her in her own apartment, with help available, not as much responsibility for upkeep & the social interaction that comes with having so many other around her. Her daughter came every other week & spent the weekend with her. When COVID hit, of course no one was permitted to visit, but even after the vaccine came out & the restrictions were lifted for other businesses, they still kept all visitors away. Even after her daughter was vaccinated, she still wasn’t permitted to visit her mother. Grandma still had no actual illness, just old age & depression that had resulted from prolonged isolation & the fear that came along with it. The family still doesn’t know how their grandma even knew about assisted suicide, or that the laws in California permitted it, but their grandma signed the papers & was scheduled for the procedure. This was the only time the family was allowed to visit her- the day that she was assisted in ending her life. If this was allowed to happen to her, I would think she isn’t alone. Who knows how many people were pushed along that path, or how many other non-terminally ill people have been allowed to do this? So very sad. *I’m all for allowing people who are seriously ill & especially those in pain that don’t have the expectation of healing to have this option. What concerns me is that this is being used for situations that aren’t in those parameters.
