As a fan of this team and someone born and raised in the community, this is setting up to be the greatest moment of my life.
I think the owners told him they have the votes to force him out and that if he makes them force him out they will sell the team at a substantial discount but if he sells it himself the NFL will allow him to maximize the profits from selling it.
I’m with Ty. No way he sells the team. Will find a way to weasel out.
Dan Snyder is not a fan of pressure. The "I will never change the Redskins name." guy did exactly that when pressure was applied. The "I will never sell the Washington Redskins" guy is now exploring a sale when pressure was applied. A four-to-five-BILLION-dollar profit doesn't hurt that decision.
I want to believe this but I will hold my breath until I see it actually happen! Too good to be true.
I think he's hedging against being forced out. There's a number of reasons to do this. If the owners vote him out he stands to lose a lot of money just because of the fact that he could get strong armed by buyer/buyer groups because he has no choice at that point. Probably some tax based reasons/incentives to get the team 'appraised' before he gets forced out the door
The DMV hasn't been this lit since week 17 of 2012.
When the wife got booed at the game with SELL THE TEAM Chant.....That was it!
As a charger fan. I can only hope and pray this day comes soon for my team
