I’m in CT, bluer than the deep blue sea, and I recently bumped into a neighbor of mine who came back from his winter’s sojourn in Fla. When I asked him how his vacation had gone, he said rather plaintively “oh too many old people and Republicans.” The snobbish assumption that we are of one mind and his reflexive superiority about his assumption is pretty much par for the course in this state, and while I don’t expect CT will ever be populated by anything but a majority of incredibly haughty leftist woke folk, I think people are now more willing to publicly push back against being viewed as Neanderthals simply because they voted for Trump. If I can look at my neighbor as someone whose vote indicated he probably can’t grab his own ass and yet still be civil, hopefully one day he’ll learn to reciprocate.

I’ve also noticed a shift in tv and movies recently where a young female character is either happy in a traditional relationship (ie marriage) or discovers they are happier in a traditional relationship. Purple Hearts on Netflix is an example.
