The standard model and lambda cold dark matter are still the best theories we have got that explain the percentages of elements right in the cosmos. However, it is increasingly being challenged by Webb telescope early universe data.
Whenever I see the word model, I cringe. The mechanics of it are awesome. However, it’s based on a flawed premise which is called a singularity which does not exist in an infinite universe. We used to change the model to match physics. Now we make physics around models. It’s really sad.
(7:40) "We know where the gold comes from" That's what Benjamin Franklin said; "The Golden Age was never the present age" 🎆 I think that Dr. Perlmutter is referring to LIGO observations from a 2017 neutron star merger, but a more recent study into gamma rays going back to 2004 ESA's INTEGRAL data reveals magnetar flares are powerful enough to shake up r-process reactions, so we don't know exactly where all the early universe gold comes from but it's still bascially r-process and s-process quotient reliable
Perlmutter is a bit modest saying that we can ROUGHLY calculate the percentages of different elements and their isotopes. For H and He4 the accuracy is better than 0.5%, so 1 part per 200. For amount of Deuterium D it is a few percent. For Lithium the uncertainty is much bigger. The rest of the elements are practically not produced at all.
Why the 3 generations of particles?🤨
The title question may depend on the students degree of significance concerning the great archtype in truth. Cosmogony includes cosmology(strict scientific inquiry) while utilizing higher languages such as myth and metaphor, deep metaphysical insight based on principles and engaging into the dialectic, whereas cosmology excludes cosmogony and keeps it based on the level of sense perception organs setting them as criterion.
