Why were we ever dumb enough not to have tariffs is the real question. Makes no sense at all.

Imagine where our country would be right now with Kamala in office. It is insane that the election was as close as it was.

And this is why I held my tounge about the tariff situation. I wanted to see the point first, and it's showing it's hand as being a means to bring negotiations back on the table. Bravo.

Our beef is from Argentina, our pork is from China, our lumber is from Canada. And we still get ripped off despite having the most powerful consumer economy in the world.

40% of US Beef is from Brazil. there are 4 major beef plants in the US, and they collectively push out the US ranchers and import meets from Brazil and Asia because it is cheaper for them to buy it and ship it due to trade deals then buy US beef. Then they worked to make it harder for US ranchers to raise cattle so they can not compete with their imports.

Friendship is a low priority. I want our country to do well first and foremost. Once we get that priority sorted, then we can be friends. Everyone should prioritize their own tribe.

Every farm here in Iowa had fences and raised beef, pigs and crops and milked dairy cattle too. Today most of the fences are gone, the dairy is gone, the local beef is gone and all the hogs are in huge confinement lots. We are now 90% corn & bean growers these days. I haven't seen a great Iowa steak in a grocery store in decades.😢
