I’m a teacher aid in a school. I make html apps with Claude on my phone as the teacher is trying to help the kids learn a concept. In a few minutes I create the code, send it to my laptop, create an html file and email it to her and say, “I just made an app that might help explain that”. Amazing.
For the first time in a decade I got a new phone (and switched to android from the ancient iPhone 7).. anyhow... I wanted a simple paint tool to block out comic book panels, so that I could then give the mockups to nano-banana for reference to make the actual comic book panels. EVERYTHING on android has annoying ads or crazy sign ups, fee's, add-ons, complicated UI, etc. So I opened bolt and with in 5 minutes had a fully working tool that lets me draw on the phone, use shapes, brushes, etc. Before you know it, I've added superbase for user accounts that store the images and imported assets, can import images to use as references, I've got annotation layers, grid references... I my have got carried away ha. I've basically created a tool called Vibe Comics. It's not totally complete yet but it's damn close. NO MORE ADS for me ha.
This is something I've been doing for a year now. It's frankly easier than a lot of people think. Thank you for trying to awaken people to this possibility.
Re an image converter (and lots of relatively simple mini-tools like that), simplest is to ask Claude for a script for a Google colab notebook. You can then just open a notebook in browser, copy the code, and that's it, it works. No need to bother with setting up local files and cli commands. For transcriptions, you can just drag and drop an audio file into Google AI studio, 2.5 pro, and ask it to transcribe, it's free and excellent

I would call myself an AI enthusiast, and for some reason, this idea has never crossed my mind. The idea to create software that converts files for me is something I will actually do.
You can do all that MS Paint stuff in Preview on a Mac

I've made some stuff that I never thought I would have been able to make. I actually made an image converter to convert images INTO WEBP to load faster, but it takes all types.
