Joe Rogan Experience #2386 - The Red Clay Strays
The Red Clay Strays: Establishing Unbreakable Band Unity Amidst Societal Chaos and Conspiracy Theories
Learn the unconventional, faith-driven philosophy fueling The Red Clay Strays’ cohesion, contrasting their teamwork with the self-destructive ego seen in famous acts, while exploring deep tangents on technological ethics, ancient mysteries, and modern societal fractures.
Short Summary
- Establish a selfless, calling-based mindset to prevent internal band conflict and guarantee longevity.
- Confront the harmful effects of social media algorithms that actively engineer polarization and reward outrage.
- Discover the band’s origin story, detailing how an untrained manager pioneered their initial bookings across the Gulf Coast.
- The conversation spans from early career hardship (driving Uber for $100/day) to discussions on ancient texts (Book of Enoch), genetic engineering (CRISPR), and government conspiracy/surveillance.
This episode features members of The Red Clay Strays discussing the rigorous lifestyle of continuous touring and how focusing their efforts on service rather than fame protects them from common band pitfalls. This internal discussion quickly broadens, covering contemporary anxiety triggers like social media division, alarming governmental trends like digital IDs, and wild speculations regarding ancient civilizations and UFO phenomena.

I love Brandon's mindset! This is all temporary! Keep your eyes on Jesus!
Brandon is my cousin! He's come a long way! Let's Go Red Clay Strays!
You can tell Joe Rogan is legitimately enjoying this interview. Look at that smile.
You guys were meant to be here and do what you're doing. You truly make a difference in many people's lives.
“Work hard and trust God.” Amen
I’ll be honest I don’t know who these dudes were but this was a great podcast. Just talked about all kinds of random stuff and it was awesome. A classic Joe Rogan episode.
As a Christian who doesn’t like typical Christian music, it is nice to find a band that I enjoy without feeling like I’m meditating on a bunch of songs about drugs and depression like a lot my other music I listen to.
Saw them the first time in Hunt Texas 2022. I asked Drew about his goals and he told me he wanted "to have enough money to build a little fence to keep his kids safe in the yard and to tell people about Jesus"
I got to meet Brandon in Mobile back in the fall before Covid hit. He walked in with a guitar and there were 4-5 older gentleman already there playing together hanging out. Brandon sits down with them and they start playing older gospel and when he opened his mouth I got chills. The talent and passion was beautiful and I’m glad to see them doing as good as they are.
I love the Red Clay Strays. Alabama boys. So wholesome.
