Totally feel you on this! It's frustrating to see so many newbies encouraged to jump in without proper guidance. I wish more folks would lean on tools like Codoki to help enforce best practices in their repos.

As an educator, it sounds insane to me to use a public repo I *don't own* as a input for instructions in my material. Learn from those who know how to teach.

I think it was Steve Jobs who said “The best managers are great individual contributors who never ever want to be a manager, but decide they have to be because no one else can do as good a job.” We need to change the culture guys, and it starts with us who are aware. Cheers all.
