It’s truly sad to see the ending especially knowing that a good portion of the kids in this episode were going to die but you just don’t expect it so soon especially not the first episode. Watching this you truly realize how lucky the loser club was when facing off with pennywise. It’s a good way to show that this show is nothing like the movie.
Those kids had no plot armor they had the opposite of plot armor
The girl was the only one that took the turtle mascots advice to duck and take cover. Does this mean the turtle diety is helping the kids by giving them clues on a subliminal level as to how to survive each death attempt? 😮
At the moment, the only people that have plot armor are Dick Hollorann and Mike's grandfather and father. No one is safe.
I probably wouldnt have noticed this if I wasnt watching with subtitles, but also in that opening car scene, the first hint that something was off for me was the kid spelling everything. The first word he spelled was "Willies" but he gets cut off halfway through so at one point he just spells "LIES"
the ending of the episode had me going wtf. loved it but what happened to the kids took me off guard cause i thought they were the main kids. cant wait for episode 2
47:41 This is actually pretty realistic… I was in a situation as a teenager where me and my friends were robbed at gunpoint and we ran, and I got shot at… I ran and hid behind a dumpster and grabbed a nearby stick, before running again, and I ran until my lungs burned and I collapsed and when my friend and I finally met back up, he was like “What is that?” and I noticed I was still holding the chunk of broken pallet super hard… I physically couldn’t let go, the adrenaline and fear was so strong that my body just locked up. He had to physically take it from me and my hand was shaking uncontrollably. So yeah, I’d imagine if you went through what she just did and her instinct was to save the girl and not let go, her hand would definitely still be holding on without her even realizing it. It’s not something you can really control, even after you notice it.
I am glad they just threw the whole “ah you thought there was going to be a group of kids fighting this thing uhn?” idea completely out the window in a bloody homerun. With the canon that Pennywise goes thru a whole bunch of kids every circle, various groups of friends have been completely massacred over the years. Quite a fun first episode.
Tbh I saw the drivers look to be a silent sign to the other black man to say this place is not kind place for us
