My ex lied to me about how much rent was when I moved in, he ended up moving out and when I found out how much the real rent amount was (because i took over the entire rental and it was less) he was more embarrassed and angry I called him out on that than all the other lies and bs he put me through because it was the only one that I could prove without gaslit as I actually has hard proof. Unreal.
Fascinating and all what I suspected instinctively. First off that most people lie for gain putting in effort to lie and people who don't lie is because they aren't looking to "get" anything whether it be material or psychological. People self-deceive so it helps them deceive others though it becomes a problem when they lose sight of the self-deception and start really believing it and being deceptive doesn't take much intelligence just a desire.
Love the topic. Deception is something I've recently become fascinated by, it's everywhere, especially in humans. Almost a sort of hack on reality/perception.
What a great topic given our socio-political circumstances over the past few years.
To many things to learn in the modern times of the knowledge we now have. I cannot devote any mental faculty to keeping track of lies. So I tell the raw truths and have nothing to keep in up with except understanding and using my knowledge as best I can for daily living.
It seems that deception lives well in those who are less aware, less evolved and in need of control in need of more and more. We come to learn and grow in a world of vastly greater and lesser souls.
Closer To Truth is broadcast on PBS stations. You can also watch Closer To Truth online at CloserToTruth.com or on our YouTube channel. This is Episode 10 of Season 21, first aired on PBS stations in 2022.
Very interesting conversation! Excellent speaker.
Self deception isn’t a lie it is sadly the self’s misperceived truth.
Every LIE destroys a small part of our world.
