Johns confirmed that the exhibit remains unchanged, and museum employees also said no major changes had been made. Roland Martin made clear that the correction does not erase the larger threat. He said Donald Trump still cannot be trusted as a steward of history and warned that the administration’s broader pressure on museums and historical interpretation remains real. Congressman Jonathan Jackson called efforts to defile history “ungodly” and “unholy,” said the Smithsonian is sacred ground, and warned against erasing African American history.
