A: possibly, there is some contention as it relates to mountain building processes and the speed at which they occur. I'll research more into the Rockies and Colorado Plateau and comment on it in a future video when relevant. Catlady: Does an active area suddenly going silent for years ever indicate its getting ready to blow? so cal is so silent in the middle of all this world activity. A: For volcanoes? It is certainly possible that things are all quiet before BOOM, but typically there is preliminary activity or some sort of "trigger".
