There remains much speculation about the motivation behind David DePape’s assault on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul, with many on the left eager to paint the hammer-wielding assailant as a stalwart MAGA supporter. But upon closer inspection it appears that the neat description of DePape as a straightforward right-winger is not particularly accurate, considering that he lived among nudists in a home festooned with LGBTQ and BLM banners.
