I’m a Veteran, fully disabled and a grateful SNAP recipient. I can purchase any junk food, cake, candy and soda but I can’t buy a Rotisserie chicken because it’s cooked. I no longer have full use of my arms and hands, preparing my meals is difficult for me. One Rotisserie Chicken and a box of Rice a Roni would be 2-3 meals for me.

No soda for FOOD stamps. It should be for veggies, fruit, meat, baby formula.

Coming from a former manager of a convenience store, it made me mad when people would come in, grab tons of soda, energy drinks, candy, and other junk food, and pay with SNAP, then turn around and buy booze, tobacco, and lottery tickets with cash or a debit card. Good on Kennedy!

My grandfather retired from a soda company. He never let us drink soda. He said it was poison.

Cutting soda is honestly a very good and straightforward thing to do. You cant argue you're cutting anything critical its not like they cant get water or that water will be more expensive than soda, none of that is true. This seems like an easy win.

I was on food stamps for several years while my kids were very small and I was trying to get through school. I remember this argument coming up then about banning junk food and soda. I was completely fine with it even though I did every once in a while, use my food stamps to buy my kids, a birthday cake or somechips. Never soda or snack cakes, but I was OK if they wanted to take away some of our choice. It’s literally free food get over it. These people who are complaining are ungrateful. I was so so appreciative of every dollar that I was able to get to help my family at that time.

As someone who works at a gas station, there are a TON of foods that shouldn’t be allowed to be purchased with Snap/EBT! Energy drinks, soda, potato chips, candy…. It’s supposed to help feed you and your babies, not fill you up on junk food! I fully support the restrictions on soda!!!

Now we all know why God will never let Newsome be president. He denied his dying mother's wishes.
