The entire political consultant class that Matt belongs to are scrambling to maintain relevance and power in an environment where their idea of politics is failed AND radioactive to the voters. Every single progressive-left candidate who has become newsworthy recently has given exceptional grace to all but the most adversarial of dissenters even though none of them have earned such grace. The petulant whining in place of reevaluating their priors and adapting to changing tides is pathetic and should be mocked. These are exactly the kind of people who got us into this mess.

Yglesias’ entire career depends upon convincing centrist Democrats that their true enemy is their own left flank.

The establishment Dems are more hostile toward left-progressives than they are toward Republicans (because they have more in common with establishment Republicans).
