This is the closest we'll get a Bill Burr back on the show
Billy Corgan was an absolute assassin of a composer in his prime. If you weren't around in the 90s to see it, it's difficult to describe how much of an impact the Pumpkins had on music and pop culture, and Corgan's uncanny ability to translate raw emotion into beautiful, haunting emissions.
Billy never gets credit for what a beast of a guitar player he is. Hes always great to listen to super smart guy.
Corgan came up with some of the best chord progressions ever recorded.
Bill Burr, Billy Corgan , Joe Rogan and Dana White are all half bros. 2025 is gonna be lit. 😂😂
He looks like Billy Corgan.
"They didn't like the sound of my voice, but it's the only kind that can cut through 3 guitars all playing at once." I never thought of that 🤔 awesome
The Hairdresser for this episode really nailed it.
I'm glad i caught this. Im a GenX kid(1980), Class of 99'.... Mayonnaise is STILL to this day in my top 10 all time favorite songs (im aware that it means nothing and is completely random string of thoughts that go nowhere....like the 90's). And until tonight, sad ro admit, i knew nothing about him other than what was in 17 Magazine or Vogue. We didnt have the internet. We didn't have cell phones. We didn't even have MTV in my town. We just didn't have access to Artists like we have today. Thank you Billy. You were in the background playing while our lives were directing themselves aimlessly through a misguided, illadvised and drug filled decade of bliss that we wouldnt trade for anything in the world. We were free. A freedom no one born after 1990ish ever got to experience. To get a drivers license meant we could GO. ALONE. NO cameras. No parents able to call or track us. No Google. No Maps. No Apps period. Just us, our cars, our music, and the roads of freedom. And you were there. For that, we thank you.
Billy Corgan is the best composer of modern rock. He's also a deep thinker. And The Smashing Pumpkins still make great shows.
