Stephen Chow is a genius.
the landlord lady was introduced as mean and scary, but people didn't realize her tenants are months due on rent payment, yet she still let them live there. that's when you know she have a kind heart.
This and Shoalin Soccer are action comedy classics.
Fun fact: landlord was actually Bruce Lee's stunt double in Hong Kong movies back in the day. Both landlord and landlady were disciples of the same master that taught Jackie Chan and Samo Hung.
My favorite movie of all time I found it by accident and loved it ever since
Bill Murray says this film is evidence of absolute comic genius. He came out of seeing it and was absolutely stunned.
The crazy old beggar man turns out to be a legit immortal monk
Still nothing tops that blind musician fight scene. This movie set the standard for over the top kung fu movies.
In the Buddhism, Buddha were believed to hold The Entire Universe on His Palm. So Buddha's Palm is basically a move of Buddha that throws an Entire Universe at you.
"What are you preparing to do?" "Why don't you speak in Chinese?" One of the rare jokes ya'll missed.
