Putting an inexperienced guy in charge tells me the sheriff isn’t exactly the most professional and will allow petty personal disputes cloud his judgement just to undermine others. He’s intentionally sabotaged the whole investigation because he can’t control his temper and wants people to know he can and will ruin their careers if he wants to.
