Description

*Does Christian faith provide scientific knowledge—or something else entirely?* Alister McGrath explores whether the Christian doctrine of incarnation has implications for science. While he argues that faith does not generate additional scientific content or theories, he suggests that it offers a broader framework for understanding why nature is intelligible, beautiful, and worthy of study. 0:00 The Incarnation, Logos, and Scientific Rationality 2:37 Does Faith Add Scientific Content? 4:06 The Scientist as Atheist and as Christian 5:07 Faith as a Larger Framework for Science *Alister Edgar McGrath* FRSA is an Irish theologian, Anglican priest, intellectual historian, scientist, and Christian apologist. *Alister McGrath argues that Christian faith does not provide additional scientific data or theories, but may offer a broader framework for understanding the meaning and significance of nature.* Does religion contribute anything to science beyond motivation and interpretation?

Science points to something in nature... that goes a little deeper. That is a nice way to put it. 👍

"Does Religion Add Anything To Science" Religion gave birth to civilizations with peace and order that paved the way for science to develop and progress.. there is no ancient civilization that had no God or Gods.. Science without the guidance of faith in a loving God can be used as just a tool by powerful evil people to achieve their selfsh greedy evil agenda that may annihilate us all

When the Greek natural philosophers engaged with the material world, they didn't suppose the existence of a deity to legitimize studying the world around them. They were led by curiosity, reason, and empirical investigation. Christ / Christology had nothing to do with natural philosophy as the Greeks put it into epistemic practice.

Christianity established science; and as well the great universities; hospitals, and encouraged respect for women. The new kid on the block atheism has benefited from all religion has done so far and it is not done yet. The Church defeated the Dark Occult, Communism, and it will defeat Trans humanism; the dumbest idea yet. As well now with scientists looking in the physical brain to see what in it may have given rise to consciousness, what next, look in a computer to see what in it gave rise to electricity? As the anthropic looms atheist materialism is floundering, in order to do a credible imitation of life it is first necessary to understand what life is. God; Consciousness is in man and in all else being Omnipresent; Omniscient; Omnipotent. We function through cognition and sense perception in the dual system we find ourselves in as we are not in unity. Consciousness is currently “the hard problem” for philosophers. As for atheist materialists they feel they have figured it all out “something from nothing evolving randomly in entities to non-existent prototypes”. That is not figuring it out, and if it did not have Consciousness how did it create it; hence “the hard problem..”

People are always telling me to stop being so negative. Fine. Yes. Religion adds more ignorance to science. Satisfied?

Christians love to claim that America is a Christian nation. But from the very beginning we never were. A Christian Nation would never have killed and displaced 20 million Native Americans! A Christian would never have thought that owning slaves was pleasing to God. A Christian Nation would never have allowed children to toil in factories during the Industrial Revolution to make rich men richer. We weren’t a Christian Nation during Jim Crow and Segregation. And a Christian Nation would never try to normalize a Pedophile and Genocide in Israel! The simple truth is we’ve always been a world controlled by rich and powerful kings and tyrants! Atrocities like the Crusades, the Inquisition, or sectarian conflicts were often directly justified by claimed divine mandates, sacred texts, and holy wars. The theological texts themselves were cited as the explicit authorization for violence. But the truth was these atrocities were so that Rich and Powerful Men at the top could create and maintain more wealth and power. The mass violence in 20th-century states like the Soviet Union or Maoist China was rooted in political ideology and totalitarianism, not the absence of a belief in God. State-sponsored atheism was used as a tool to consolidate absolute power and eliminate perceived ideological threats to the state. Again, these horrors were only about maintaining wealth and power! And until we admit this truth nothing will ever change. Christians can pretend that Jesus will fix it but the Musk’s and Trump’s and Putin’s of the World will be laughing at you all the way to the bank!
