I actually did the math myself awhile ago thinking about it. 400$ a month for 2 years 925 a month for 20 months and then 811 for almoat 6 years... the total was jaw dropping im never buying a new truck again. I use my truck alot but im keeping this one till the wheels fall off then im going to pay to reattach them back on and keep driving it.
I retired from full time work 4 years ago. I work 2 days a week just to keep myself busy and of course, I like the money. It covers all my expenses and I save around $6K-$8K a year. I've been talking to an old high school friend for the past 2.5 years who has his own tow truck business. He is successful and makes good money but he spends it faster than he makes it. He calls me up to complain about it. He bought a an older house that needs updating but he wanted it because it had 54 acres. The land is just sitting there but is worth around $2 million. He told me he didn't make any profits in the business last year even though he works 7 days a week. Yet, he just went out and bought a brand new 2025 4x4 PU truck $70k even though his old truck is a 2022, basically brand new. I don't even want to talk to him anymore because I don't believe in his lifestyle purchases and he complaining about having to work 7 days a week 12-16 hours a day and saying he has no money. He keeps doing the complete opposite of what he should be doing. He's 54 years old and will have to work until the day he dies.
I'm glad there's a man like you teaching people about money. I wish you all success in life

Last year, I took out an affirm loan for a travel trip. I just wanted to go you know. Life's was rough and depressing. Thought I would feel better being around my family. I did. I had fun. But when I got home and I saw that I was paying some of my pay check about 300$ all the time my heart dropped everytime lol. After the payment completed, I just rerouted that money into a hysa, now have an emergency fund so that's about 600$ a month. Now I just look at that amount and sleep soundly. But granted I still have cc debt, next month I wanna pay that off and be debt free. Then start investing 😌 👌
This guy is out here spittin' life truths. Good on you Jaspreet. The broke "cousin Bundy" comment always cracks me up.
