We’ve been seeing “agents with infinite memory” claims every few months since 2024, and most of them still don’t remember even 0.0001% of what gets stored in that so-called memory. A vector database, summaries, embeddings, and searchable logs are useful tools — but that is not the same thing as real memory. Real agent memory means the system can reliably recall the right context, update it, forget outdated information, verify sources, understand priority, preserve continuity, and apply the memory correctly at the right moment. Most demos are basically: “I gave the agent a giant attic full of boxes.” Great. But if the agent can’t find the right box, understand what’s inside, know whether it’s still true, and use it without hallucinating, then it doesn’t have infinite memory — it has infinite clutter. I wish people were more honest and nuanced about this, because the hype damages public understanding of what AI can actually do. AI has incredible capabilities already, but exaggerating them makes builders chase marketing fantasies instead of solving the real problems: retrieval quality, memory governance, context compression, provenance, permissions, temporal decay, and feedback loops.
I don't need a 2nd brain. I need a well functioning 1st brain.
Bro, either you sleeping 1 hour a week or you smoking more than snoop dogg.
Can you have holographic memory and obsidian at the same time?
im here for David's mandatory "poverty of your imagination" line :)
completely off topic but by any chance are you lifting your arms while talking and putting them back on the table - there is some low bass noise that is random and it feels like your mounted mic catches that vibration :D or not and I am going insane
i dont really get the benefeit of having it in a vps rather than on my mac.. could some1 list the differences?
