Description

George Beebe is the former CIA Director for Russia Analysis and currently Director of Grand Strategy at the Quincy Institute. Beebe discusses how Russia's fear of NATO expansionism went from being common sense in the 1990s to becoming "controversial" claim. This narrative is dangerous as Russia will at some point consider it neccessary to retaliate against European NATO countries. Beebe makes the US and Europe sound so benevolent and good minded, as opposed to imperial, colonial and hegemonic, which is what they are

Does Mr Bebee believe what he says? The expansion of NATO was to have access to cheap labour and to plunder the vast natural resources of the former soviet union.

I cannot imagine how much pressure Glenn is feeling for his view point. I can't even discuss with my colleagues about what I evidently know! Being Glenn in our time requires bravery! Thank you professor

So, The Americans wanted to teach the Russians what is democracy, and how to embrace the American capitalist system. And there will not be wars in the future. So how they did that. They entered Russia and started stealing the Russian resources, by buying cheap companies, and encouraging destroying the Russian enterprises by the Russian oligarchs who are implementing the American capitalist system. Off course, Russia couldn't be allowed to become friend of the west. It had to be portrayed as enemy, because that is how the military complex and weapons manufacturers were making their money. Who cares for a peace. The most important thing is MONEY. That is the American democratic system - Money Yugoslavian

US arrogance is just so breathtaking. We know best, we will help you transition to OUR system, we're going to move you around like chess pieces, and then you will be happier. As for the CIA........I grew up in Africa, it's going to take me a while to not see them as an evil force. Americans should not throw the stone about "illegal wars".

I wish you'd have pushed back more, Glenn - specifically when Beebe claimed that Russia's SMO was 'unjustified'. IT ABSOLUTELY WAS JUSTIFIED, BEEBE, FOR MORE THAN ONE REASON
