In the very first episode, Sherlock assumes John has a brother, then when John says Harry is short for Harriet he is mad at himself that he didn't consider the option of it being a sister. And here we are.

When Sherlock says “isn’t it right, Mary” — I always saw it as him acknowledging her memory lives on in John’s mind just as his, and for John not to feel it’s wrong to see/speak with her. Because both miss her

I dont care what people say, I like this season a lot and this episode is one of the best in terms of twists and building a narrative

John may not have realized that she was the same woman, because he didn't see her again after that initial meeting. He said that all they did was text.

H. H. Holmes was a real serial killer.

They did her make up real good. Not to mention her demeanour completely changed. It was brilliant. This whole episode is phenomenal.

Enola and Eurus are not in the original Sherlock books, they are both purely created for their respective adaptations

John confessing to "Mary" is some of the best acting I have ever seen in my life. I cannot help but cry, because we all see Watson as this epitome of Goodness and it's a reminder that no one is perfect- and him breaking down talking to his imaginary wife literally just kills me.
