Description

► Watch Mark Wiens and Nat Geo #EpicFoodJourneys: https://youtu.be/MY3Qy6vAbZQ?si=Y2drp-DH9h_CbMRZ Good morning from Mangily, Madagascar, a fishing village on the Mozambique channel coast. This village is so beautiful, from the ocean, to the flora and fauna, to the local Malagasy street food and seafood. Today we’re first starting with a canoe ride in the ocean to see how they go fishing. Then we’ll have an incredible Malagasy local breakfast of fish, beans, and rice on the streets of Mangily village. Then we’ll see the local fresh seafood catch on the beach, but a huge red snapper and local lobsters, and then go back to a local home to have an ultimate Malagasy bbq. The food and culture in the episode was truly breathtaking! Madagascar is a fascinating country; the people are so friendly, the nature is incredible, and the food is outstanding. Thank you to Michael Rakotomahefa for hosting us, and Coco, Andry (https://madagascar-discovery.com/), and Mario for taking me around on this ultimate Madagascar street food tour in Mangily! Those kids don't need an ipad or other gadgets to be happy, take me back to my childhood days growing up in Jamaica in the early 90s, in the countryside, we would play marble, bird and mango hunting in the bushes and take splashes in the river. No wonder I and my friends grew so humble and nothing in life phase us. Its a joy to see.

Man all that food looked so tasty! It would be a dream to travel and eat from so many unique places around the world. I am starting a new journey working on eating only foods that are unprocessed and boy is it a challenge in the US. Everywhere else in the lesser-developed places they are all so happy, friendly, and sure know how to make a hearty meal. God bless

Fishermen bring in fresh seafood, there's a giant grilled red snapper, sea urchins and more. Love the food and adventure, Mark, his wife Ying and their son Micah travelling on the sea in boats, and Micah having fun playing with the children and eating a meal with them. Madagascar, a beautiful place with delicious food.
